IT Venture 4 : Buzzy Word
Don't we all hesitate immediately after entering
a new place hearing all those new terms?
Yeah ...?
The next morning, Maru-san did not come to office.
He must have had plenty of "Yeah" last night.
I also want a bunch of "Yeah".
Mysterious naming still continues.
One day I suddenly received Direct Message
from another department.
Knowme ...
Mysterious self-introduction training...?
Which was actually ...
(cf. "Nomi", which pronounces like
"Know me", means "going out drinking"
in Japanese so it is like a wordplay.)
an internal company system that encourages
employees to go out drinking together.
For newcomers who have just
joined the company,
(cf. "Ie", which pronounces like
"Yeah", means "home" in Japanese
so another wordplay!)
this is a great place to correct
various misunderstandings.
Maru-san wasn't flirting Yeah,
he was working from home.
After all, it was mole, who was
flirting "Yea-----h".
And this is real Know me?
Conclusion.
IT ventures love creating buzzy new words!

Adding IT industry jargon, I could only survive two minutes in a meeting. However, once you learn them, you will feel more comfortable in the company. Is it internal terms that create corporate culture and sense of unity? Is there a unique local naming around you??? ( To be Continued ... ▶︎ )
