Moving to USA with my buddy (during Covid) ③
Although it differs depending on the state,
the basic preparation to take our dog to the US
(LA in our case) was like the following.
(* This may differ in other cases.)
Veterinarian's health certificate,
Vaccination (several types) certificate,
Quarantine procedure (documents or online registration),
Quarantine interview reservation at the airport,
Cage of specified size,
and more than anything,
Airline Cargo (Animal Transport) Booking !!!
(During Covid, I was especially distressed by this.)
There is a limited allocation for animal transportation
on each plane and, in rare cases, it could be full.
If cargo (animal transportation) was full,
I even considering bringing Willy Senpai
to regular seats ...
Unfortunately, he seemed to be
a little oversized for that ...
I carefully completed TODO list
one by one.
Due to Covid, I enjoyed the rest of my stay in Japan
with Netflix + Convenience Store treasure hunting.
Finally one week before the flight,
all tasks were completed.
I was wondering if my husband and son
were getting along well.
It may have been Sixth Sense,
an urgent email arrived from my husband.
It was a forwarded mail
from our apartment in Arizona.
Title started from "I am sorry ..."
"I am sorry but we can not permit your dog because ..."
I was told from the apartment that a dog
with more than 50% blood from
Shepherd or/and Pit Bull were not allowed.
In summary,
"In case of a mixed pedigree dog,
if it has a possibility of more than 50% shepherd,
it would not be permitted to move in! "
Once again, Mole is pushed down
to the bottom of the abyss.
Even if I could fly to the U.S.,
I would not be able to move in with Willy Senpai.
Willy Senpai is a genuine
Shiba Inu-based stray dog but
other blood details are chaos.
How should I explain it?
I have a flight to the United States in a few days ...
( Next time is the final story! )
Although pets are allowed in my apartment in the U.S., since Shepherd and Pit Bull could be ferocious, mixed dog need to have a document, either by DNA test result or breed certificate issued by a veterinary clinic, proving that those blood are less than 50%. A month ago, I handed in a vague report of Willy Senpai - Shiba Inu and Pointer, and maybe some Shepherd included? I wasn't told anything in particular, so I never imagined being told to neglect Willy Senpai from living with us. Although it is common to perform a DNA test to identify a breed of dog, since it is not major in Japan yet, it would take at least one and a half month to send a test kit overseas and receive the result. With only a few days left, what can Mole do? I need to react fast !!!
( Next is the final episode! )
I am participating in a ranking.
